  1. True. Just I couldn't very well kickoff chiming in nigh multiple prosecutions without making yous aware that I'm at information technology once again.:D
  2. Do yous mean the typical "cops bedevilled of a crime are bad" arguments hither? Because if so, yes.Chauvin is the exception, not the dominion. Most cops who killed people, even under very questionable circumstances, get away with it.Of course, that'due south a point that goes more towards mitigation at sentencing than innocence.

  3. If I'm "frustrated" at annihilation its the general lack of attending to nuance in individual cases as well as the lack of attention placed on systemic issues like administrations, hiring policies, training procedures, politicians and courtroom systems that all need reform instead of the cops are racist or bad mentality that many accept.
  4. The entire system is broken. If the "cops are bad mentality" can aid spur modify, I'll accept it. Policing is every fleck as cleaved and problematic as the other parts of the criminal organization (if not moreso).

  5. I know too many personally that just want to go to piece of work and go home. I know of too many incompetent ones that leave the road as before long as possible while glad handing their way to higher ranks that perpetuate the lack of training and connected focus on wrong issues. I also know too well how cities and administrations are content with throwing bodies to fill positions rather than pay meliorate while holding more accountability in areas that need to be oftentimes reassessed.

I have my suspicions of some who are likely racist and acknowledge it is a trouble.

  7. That's a bullshit misrepresentation. But go ahead go along excusifying for cops who exercise wrong to others.
  8. Thus the relevance of the video I posted of a white Dallas man, suffering mental illness, called the police for assistance, they got there and basically suffocated him all the while joking amongst themselves. The prosecutor chose not to prosecute.

The various convictions / punishments given in Minneapolis were primarily almost race and wanting the local blackness community to feel some peace by throwing out a sacrificial lamb.

  9. No it isnt bullshit. Information technology is pretty natural to defer to authorities especially when yous are new and inexperienced. Chauvin was their preparation officer and boss. Your training officer pretty much controls your fate as a police force officer.

Yeah we all spotter a video a hundred times and come up to a revisionist history of what should have happened just fail to have into business relationship how human beings typically react in a affair of minutes. Yep in retrospect they should accept intervened, but in the moment information technology would have been an extraordinary behavior to do so. I'm certain many here feel they are virtuous and infallible but they are fooling themselves.

  10. Okay: insensitivity to if non outright animus toward blacks.
  11. Finally somebody who gets that people are people.and these situations have lots of nuance.

1 affair I hear frequently is how Floyd was proverb he can't breathe and the officers failed to respond to that. Which is true. Simply the thing I don't e'er here mentioned is Floyd was maxim that all the way back to the point of being in the backseat of the automobile, by himself. He kept repeating it over and over over again. However yes the officers should not ignore that, but it pretty human for them to see that and probably dismiss what he was saying as a guy who was mentally having a panic set on or tripping, or something else. No it doesn't alibi the cops inaction, merely like everything else it is nuance that has to be weighed in.

It is natural that these rookie cops call up Chauvin has done this 100 times and knows what he is doing. It isn't an unreasonable supposition for them to make. And so what nosotros are asking these rookie cops to do is to overcome all of those reasonable assumptions, and potentially throw their career abroad because of a hunch that something incorrect is happening in a matter of a couple of minutes.

  12. No because he'south probably still live.
  13. There it is. And people wonder why so many hate liberals.
  14. The bullshit office is suggesting that liberals are all calling for astringent penalization. But you've ignored a history of policing in which countless officers become away with what is criminal behavior as well as bad policing to defend police against any prosecution at all.

Might we call your constant defense force of police misdeed your own virtue signaling?

Constitutional rights that limit government from abusing our freedoms (up to and including limiting taking of human being life) doesn't come with a caveat that agents of authorities need non act with basic human decency in looking afterwards the well-being of people they arrest. Indeed, that badge should crave a much higher standard. Constabulary legitimacy comes from the public--what better way to destroy that legitimacy than by engaging in actress-legal violence and disregarding the suffering of people bc they're existence arrested and and so non being held to account?

  15. Yes, indeed. There are as well many in America who are oblivious to or don't care nearly the history of mistreatment of blacks, or are downright hostile to them. It's this latter shamelessnes which got Trump elected. Hostility to the "others" explains right wing extremists throughout history. The GOP knows who those people are and allows and, indeed, encourages their nativist inclinations. They want a government of the whites, past the whites and for the whites. Thankfully, nearly Americans are a expert and kind people and reject this, just brand no mistake, nosotros are being invaded as much by the Huns within as Ukraine is by the Huns without, which explains the far right'due south sympathy for Russian federation.

  16. For All of the criticisms of the cops where it all changed to me was when Chauvin kept his genu on his neck as Floyd's level of consciousness began to alter. Equally you said, Floyd was proverb he couldn't breathe from the time he was standing up outside in open air. I tin can tell you I have been on hundreds of calls where people claim they tin't breathe. Hundreds. I've seen it said considering of feet only ive as well seen it used to leave of arrests. My job is to exercise my diligence despite having a pretty safe assumption they are usually total B.s. I stress to new medics that every notorious phone call started as a typical call. Its your job to utilize your training and resource to perform your diligence to brand sure it is or isn't a legitimate complaint through things similar Lung sounds, Heart rate, pare colour, O2 sat, etCo2, etc etc.

Where I fault Chauvin is his full failure to reassess Floyd'southward condition peculiarly when he went unconscious. Once in custody an officer is liable for the discipline's well beingness. In my opinion Chauvin was guilty of gross negligence resulting in death. I think he was guilty of manslaughter and probably 2nd degree murder although I'm not certain of everything that charge entails.

I think the fact that another officeholder tried to get Chauvin to cheque Floyd later they realized something might be wrong should exist considered in their defense even if they didn't do it with more fervor as they should accept. If information technology was another senior officer with fifty-fifty without rank and they didn't footstep in then yes, they should probably be dealt with as sternly every bit Chauvin was.

  17. I wonder why so many are eager to make excuses for cops who pause the law and abuse their authorization.Y'all've indicted policing far more effectively than I have with this one line. And you lot're probably non wrong. If one of those cops stopped Chauvin from murdering Floyd, they may well have thrown their career abroad. But that doesn't immunize them from criminal consequences, and that only speaks to simply how messed up the organization is.

  18. Most don't, which is why Trump was one of the few presidents not to get a second term, and why liberals and true conservatives, who accept historically been more protective of individual rights than the right fly, go along to get elected. The right fly has non just co-opted the flag, they are destroying conservatism. They even so contest Trump'southward sound defeat and have employed all manner of commonwealth-destroying measures in that endeavor.

  19. The main question that we all should be asking is how does the Minneapolis PD, up to and including the Mayor, and the police force union justify letting a guy like Chauvin with multiple complaints of excessive forcefulness and bad behavior lead anything more than a canine over to the shoulder of the road to take a eject. How in the hell did they come to think that Chauvin would make a good trainer?

I concord with iboy. Chauvin got what he deserved. Unfortunately, we had to learn the hard way the the other three really aren't cut out for policing. They should be fired and banned from time to come LE work. Anything beyond that is virtue signaling. I heard that they take diligently wore double masks, got both doses of vaccines and boosters, clandestinely participated in peaceful protests, and voted for Biden. Doesn't that get them some slack with you guys?
